Mario Garcia, Jr. — CEO and Managing Partner

Mario Garcia, Jr. was born and raised in Tampa, and he continues to maintain his residence and operate his businesses in Hillsborough County. In 2004, Mr. Garcia formed Validus Group which develops, owns and manages real estate and real estate related businesses.  Mr. Garcia is on the board of directors of both Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT and Strategic Capital Companies - two businesses he helped found in 2010.  Mr. Garcia is the President and Chief Executive Officer of EMSI, a national medical device company. He is also one of the founding board members of GulfShore Bank, a Tampa Bay area community bank focused on serving small to medium sized companies.

Mr. Garcia is active in the Tampa Bay community. He is an executive committee board member of the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), an active participant on the Finance Committee and the Chairman of the National Hispanic Scientist of the Year Gala. He is also a member of the Vistage International, a networking group of Chief Executive Officers managing business throughout the world. Mr. Garcia and his businesses also support Metropolitan Ministries, the American Cancer Society, the Cattle Baron's Ball and a variety of other charitable foundations.

David Brightwell, CCIM — VP Business Development

David Brightwell, CCIM has been involved in over $450MM in commercial real estate transactions throughout the past decade. He has represented over 10MM square feet of office, industrial and retail commercial real estate over his career. Mr. Brightwell has completed over 200 transactions in 34 different states as well as completing all financial analysis and due diligence for a company's first offices in Europe. David has represented multiple Fortune 100 Companies in forming and implementing their national real estate strategies. David lives in Tampa, FL and graduated from the University of Florida. He received his bachelor's degree in Decision and Information Sciences and is a member is Vistage International, a networking group of key executives managing business throughout the community.

David received his CCIM designation in 2006 and is actively involved in FGCAR, CoreNet, ICSC, and the Westshore Alliance. He attends St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Tampa, FL.

Yorlan Alfonso, MBA — Comptroller & Chief Compliance Officer

Yorlan was born in Cuba, but has lived in Tampa, Florida for over 30 years. Yorlan has been with Validus Group since it's inception in 2004 and has had extensive financial experience at Raymond James Financial prior to Validus Group. Yorlan is responsible for the development, interpretation, maintenance and implementation of Company financial policies, budgets and procedures. Yorlan holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of South Florida and a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Leo University.

Israel Labrador — Construction and Maintenance Manager

Israel Labrador was born in Havana, Cuba and has been working with Validus Group since its inception in 2004. Israel manages all properties and construction projects. Prior to Validus Group, Israel was a distribution manager for EMSI, a national medical device manufacturer.
